Edit a PDF online, free
Open a PDF and write on it, highlight, white out, add pictures and signatures, fill in its form, reorder or rotate pages, and even change the text that is already in it. Free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit.
How it works
- Open ScanKit’s editor and choose your PDF.
- Pick a tool: Text, Edit text, Draw, Highlight, White out, shapes, Picture or Sign. Click the page to use it.
- Press Save PDF. Your changes are written onto the original pages and the file downloads.
Questions
Can I change the text that is already in the PDF?
Yes. Pick Edit text, click a line and retype it. When you save, the old words are taken out of the file and nothing else on the page moves. The new text uses the closest standard font, and it works one line at a time: paragraphs do not reflow. Scanned PDFs are pictures, so they have no text to change.
Is it really free?
Yes. The editor has no download count, no watermark and no account. The paid plan is only for the printed-and-scanned looks and for downloads from the photo scanner beyond the free allowance.
Is white out the same as redaction?
No. White out covers part of the page, but text under it stays in the file. To change words for real, use Edit text, which removes the old letters.
Can I fill in a PDF form?
Yes. If the PDF has form fields you can type into them, tick boxes and pick from lists, and the values are saved into the form.
Are my files uploaded?
Your files are opened by your browser and never uploaded, so there is nothing to delete afterwards.
